Duomo di Siena - Siena, Italy
“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
On my last night in France, I had the unexpected pleasure of observing an elderly man as he fed the birds on the Promenade des Anglais. Dozens of birds, of all shapes and sizes, would fly right up to him - unafraid of the old man and seemingly unaware of the onlookers watching the scene unfold. He spoke softly to the creatures, addressing them as if they were dear friends. I felt almost as if I were intruding on a private moment between old comrades. This almost-magical moment, imbued with the warmth of the approaching sunset over the Riviera, warmed my own heart and is one that I’ll never forget.

I didn’t notice this until I started looking through my photos weeks later. Anyone else notice the resemblance?
